UNION HIGH SCHOOL SENIOR SCHOLARSHIP

The Union NJ Democrats Civic Engagement Scholarship is awarded annually to one Union High School senior who demonstrates strong leadership and commitment to community service and wants to continue educating and preparing themselves to become agents of change in their communities and in society.  

The Scholarship aims to provide supplementary financial support for a graduating Union High School senior who:

  • Is continuing their education at a  2 or 4-year institution or trade school

  • Is in good academic standing

  • Has completed the required 20 hours of community service per graduation requirements

 

The recipient will be selected by the Union Township Democratic Municipal Committee based on their application.

The Union NJ Democrats Civic Engagement Scholarship recipient will receive one lump sum award of $500.  Funding is based on availability.

Describe a time when you took initiative to make a positive impact in your community. What issue or need did you address, and what actions did you take? How did this experience shape your understanding of civic responsibility?
